Nene Valley Harriers - Athletics Club, Peterborough, UK

We are one of the largest athletic clubs in the East of England withover 300 members and promise a warm welcome to anyone interested in athletics, cross country and roadrunning. The club, which is run by athletes for athletes, meets every Monday at The Saint Guthlac School, Postland Road, Crowland, Peterborough, Lincolnshire, PE12 0SD (7 - 8pm) and Tuesday and Thursday (7 - 8pm) at the Embankment Athletics Track, Peterborough Athletics Arena, Bishops Road, Peterborough, PE1 5BW. 27 July 2010: Message from Russ Prosser - There will be another NVH NYAL team photo session at Crowland on Monday 2nd August 2010 (7 pm sharp). Please remember to wear your NVH vest and smile. All NYAL athletes welcome especially those from the Spalding end! There will also be a training sessions at Hill Farm in the next few weeks, date to be confirmed - watch the site for more details.

27 July 2010: The NVH website will undergo some design changes and improvements in the coming weeks. It would be a good opportunity to incorporate some new ideas and features into the website. If you have any suggestions on improving the site please send your comments and suggestions to the webmaster. Your views and opinions are of great importance and all ideas will be considered and implemented if at all possible. The club newsletter will also be revamped and improved in the autumn.

25 July 2010: Message from Tim Needham - The final Southern League division 1 match is at home on Saturday 31st July. We meet Highgate, Met Police, Norwich and Thames Valley Harriers. Team managers for the day are Dave Brown and Adam Fidgett. Team captain is Josh Reed.Notwithstanding we are at home would all team members please arrive in time for the team prematch meeting at 12 noon. Would all those who are kindly officiating and assisting at the meeting also arrive in good time (about 12.30) as we are involved with running the early field events which start at 1.0pm.

07 July 2010: A new Leadership in Running Fitness course has been set up: Date: 18th September 2010 Venue: Stanground Sports Centre, Stanground College, Peterborough Road Stanground Peterborough PE7 3BY Course Code: SC0255. This is a one day Leadership Training course which qualifies and insures leaders to deliver safe and fun running sessions, suitable for Running Club Leaders and Run in England Group Leaders. The course will enable you to deliver fun and safe sessions to multi-ability groups and give advice and support to the new runner, as well as developing pathways for those who want to progress. Further information on this course, including a short video, can be found on www.runinengland.co.uk/lirf To book a place on the course please complete the booking form and forward with payment and photo to the Head Office address on the form.
