Our social events

Athletes/family have the opportunity to travel together to The National and Southern X/C Championships (depending on location) via coach. A raffle is usually held on the day.

Depending when Easter is, these are the months in which our annual presentation evening will be held. This usually consists of the presentation of awards, a buffet, disco, bar and a raffle; a family event. It is usually held locally in the Peterborough area.

‘Wells Fun Day’ is held near the end of July. Families and athletes all travel to Wells beach where games and training takes place. The day is rounded off with a fish and chip tea.

‘Graded Evening’, this is an opportunity to get an official PB in the 800m or a throwing event. Long jump is held for the U11s. A buffet is served after the events for athletes and families. Donations of food and soft drink are asked for.

‘Parlouf’, a paired event with a distance of 1k, 3k or 5k (depending on age). Athletes bring a present if they wish to join in. The wrapped present must not cost more than £5. A buffet is served after the events for athletes and families. Donations of food and soft drink are also asked for.

This is another great social event where parents, coaches and families can get together and enjoy a great feast and a pleasant evening.

Thursday evenings at the track
On a Thursday evening at Peterborough track, tea, coffee and biscuits are served from 7 p.m. This is all done voluntarily by a team of parents/members. There is no charge for the refreshments but we do ask for a donation towards the charities that we are collecting for at that time. Over £910 has been raised so far for charity. We are always looking for more parents to help us out on the tea rota and for the other events that we put on throughout the year so if you fancy joining Sharon, Judith and Anne-Marie, do please speak to them . Any contribution/help is greatly appreciated.
