Anti-doping
Background
Most runners wouldn’t dream of deliberately taking performance-enhancing drugs. However, there have been some isolated cases in the UK where runners have inadvertently done so (and, of course, where they have deliberately done so). As it is ultimately the runner’s responsibility to ensure that anything they take is not prohibited, we thought it would be helpful to include some useful links on our website which provide further information about this important topic.
If in doubt…
If you are ever in doubt about prohibited substances, you can speak to your doctor, your coach. You can even contact a David Herbert (UKA anti doping manager) by email or tel 0121 713832 mob 07803671978 - he would be pleased to help in any way he can.

Supplement alert re Jack3D
A message we have received re Jackj3d. "I was at the annual Doping Conference this week and one of the subjects discussed was the use of supplements. Apparently, there is a supplement out there called JACK3D which is said to contain the prohibited substance methylhexaneamine which is a stimulant banned in-competition. You may wish to advise your team about this so that they are aware of the situation and can make such checks on the product as they consider appropriate."
